if you've been following my gallery, you'll know that I'm usually an all rounder, i shoot everything, in everyway.

Things from now will be different. I just re-surfaced from a 2 month contemplation span and I came back deciding that black and white is my thing, and will make it my signature.

To be technically accurate, my photos are not pure black and white, or monochrome. I don't deny that the photos are not "as-is" they are processed. But with me, it's more of a pre-processing than post-processing. I've developed my own picture styles (Canon allows users to "define" and "program" the way their cameras sees things, thus one can get jiggy with it and innovate!) which now reaches two; aditya-1 and adit2.0. Both of them are very, very low saturated settings, with an emphasis on contrast, sharpness, and a whopping white balance of custom 10,000 kelvins.

The last 3 photos in my gallery have been taken with these settings.

Why so?

The last months I photographed before the contemplation, I found my pictures were "okay", but they were still missing something. I felt that anyone could make what I make. It's not too hard after all. I thought later and agreed with myself that the thing I want from my photography is that a "message" is sent. Just anybody can make a photo that's soul-less.

So what's the deal?

Colour. I found that colour ruins my concentration. I realized that I sometimess fuss too much colour that I forget about composition and forget that I need to breathe soul into my photography. Low saturation helps me concentrate. Helps me express to you that even though you cannot see blunt red on my photo, you'll somehow know its red. And it relaxes me to know that the first thing you're gonna see on my photos is the subject, not the spectrum of colour that is a mere accessory to the whole photo.

So, here's to low saturation! :D

The dream of taking pictures have intrigued me for quite some time now. I started liking the idea of "documenting" life since i was in mid school. Now i'm in my 4th year of university studie ehehe :D

Got the chance to actually start picking up a camera and snap away about 3 months ago, so you can say in terms of passion i've been in this for years, but when it comes to practice i'm a total noob..

i believe in minimum editing photography and i can't stop emphasizing that. because as much as it is a trend to "digitally cook" your photos, I've never been a fan of darkroom effects. I am what I am, and that is hor my photography is.

Every shot is made with passion, there's no such thing as a snapshot in my dictionary, every frame has its function, its meaning, my medium to convet my message.

Hope you enjoy the page, not perfect i know, but i am trying.. Cheerio! :D

Coloring within the lines isn't about conforming to what others think is right, it's about following the rules just enough in order to personalize the mark you put on the world.
